Serious crash closes Upper James in Hamilton

Four people were taken to hospital after a serious crash on Upper James near Twenty Road Friday morning.

Several vehicles were involved in the mishap which occurred about 9:30 in the vicinity of the KIA dealership.

Traffic was immediately blocked off in both directions when emergency crews arrived.

Upper James is expected to be closed well into Friday afternoon.

To go south on Upper James, police will re-route you westbound on Rymal, to south on Garth, to east on Twenty Road where you can continue south on Upper James.

One woman is apparently in critical condition.

No word on how severe the injuries are in relation to the other victims involved in the crash.

One of the vehicles involved was a commercial vehicle which was sent completely off the road into the ditch.

Police apparently have several witnesses and are busy taking witness statements.
