Serial bank robber hits Oakville, Burlington

Halton Police are hoping the public can help identify a suspect in a series of recent bank robberies in Oakville and Burlington.

Halton Police photo of robbery suspect Police say they believe the five bank robberies are connected and the suspect description is very similar in all incidents: a white man between 200-250 pounds, 5’10” to 6’2″ with a chubby face/wide jaw, wearing a plaid jacket, black hoodie and blue jeans.

The latest robbery occurred yesterday when a man entered a Scotiabank branch at Dorval and Speers in Oakville and fled on foot with some cash. Investigators say no weapons were indicated by the suspect or observed by bank employees, and no one was hurt.

Police are trying to get a description of a vehicle by reviewing surveillance video.
