Senior drives into St. Catharines hospital, sustains minor injuries

Niagara police say a car was driven into a St. Catharines hospital by an 86-year-old resident Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to the Niagara Health – St. Catharines hospital site located at 1200 Fourth Ave. around 11:30 a.m. regarding a motor vehicle collision.

Upon arrival, police say a 2017 Hyundai, driven by a senior from St. Catharines collided with the building.

Police say the driver of the Hyundai and the passenger sustained what is believed to be minor injuries and are currently being treated by hospital staff.

Investigators say the area of the hospital where the vehicle collided was office space. No NHS employees or patients sustained any injuries.
