A new search about 100 kilometres north of Toronto in the case of Nicole Morin will likely end today if police don’t find anything.

Investigators have been scouring a rural area of Springwater Township near Barrie since yesterday in the hopes of finding any sign of Morin.

Acting on a tip from the public, 40 officers with the OPP and Toronto Police used cadaver dogs as they scoured a heavily wooded site.

Morin was eight when she disappeared 29 years ago after leaving her family’s west-end Toronto apartment to meet a friend to go

swimming.

The ensuing search has been one of the largest and longest ever done by Toronto Police, who say they’ve been receiving tips from the public regularly for three decades.

The latest was received after Toronto Police released a video on the 29th anniversary of Morin’s disappearance this past July that re-enacted her movements that day.
