There is a command post set up by police at the Glendale Golf Club for those wanting to help search for Shirley.
There has been a number of developments in the search efforts including a new piece of surveillance video shared on Facebook by Shirley’s daughter.
The new surveillance video was taken Tuesday at 2:15 p.m. on Forest Hill Crescent which is just a few hundred metres from her home and shows her walking along the sidewalk.
The family is, of course, growing more and more concerned, CHCH News spoke with Shirley’s sister-in-law Sharon Kay Love whose brother Jim is Shirley’s husband. She was one of the many, many relatives who spent most of the day searching. She says they remain hopeful but Jim, Shirley’s children, and the rest of this large family are very upset.
Sharon wants to thank the hundreds of people involved in the search and wants everyone to check everywhere, even places you may not think because Shirley’s Alzheimer’s may have led her somewhere unexpected, and she says they are thinking outside the box.
Hamilton police say they expanded the search area on Thursday and are trying new areas, and have now brought in the mounted unit.
Shirley’s grandson has put up a $5,000 reward for information leading to her return. Police say they will continue searching until she is found.
UPDATE:
