Saturday, August 2nd declared Annaleise Carr day

Just one week after she became the youngest person to swim central Lake Erie, Norfolk county is honouring Annaleise Carr once again.

Saturday was officially declared Annaleise Carr day.

The 16-year old swimmer has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Camp Trillium, a children’s cancer support centre.

She swam across Lake Erie last week, but was forced to end her journey at Long Point, about 30 kilometers short of her goal at Port Dover.

Carr says she will finish her swim from Long Point to Port Dover by the end of this summer. Two years ago Carr became the youngest person to swim across Lake Ontario.
