Russell Reid Public School in Brantford closed following fire in classroom

Russell Reid Public School in Brantford will remained closed following a fire in a classroom Tuesday night.

“As a result of air quality in the building, the school will be closed to all students and staff from June 25 to 27,” a statement from the school board read.

A spokesperson for Brantford fire told CHCH News that crews responded to an alarm at the school Tuesday around 10:24 p.m.

Firefighter’s initial investigation revealed a small fire involving a box fan. The incident is not considered to be suspicious.
