Russell Reid Public School in Brantford closed following fire in classroom

Russell Reid Public School in Brantford is closed today following a fire in a classroom Tuesday night.

According to a statement from the school board, air quality in the building is the chief concern that led to the closure.

A spokesperson for Brantford fire told CHCH News that crews responded to an alarm at the school Tuesday around 10:24 p.m.

Firefighter’s initial investigation revealed a small fire involving a box fan. The incident is not considered to be suspicious.
