Here’s your chance to see a blockbuster remake – in downtown Hamilton.

A reboot of the 80s sci-fi classic Robocop is being shot now on James Street North, which is doubling as a street in Detroit. The cast includes Samuel L Jackson, Michael Keaton, Gary Oldman, Abbie Cornish and Jay Baruchel. The movie’s economic impact on the city is estimated to be $350,000.

Production crews were protective of their overnight shooting and didn’t allow our cameras on the set. Filming will continue in Hamilton until October 1st.
