Robert Ellis makes court appearance

A 21 year old Hamilton man facing charges of using the internet to lure minors for sexual purposes made a brief appearance in court Friday for a bail hearing.

Robert Ellis was arrested Tuesday in Hamilton after police received information from the FBI.

He’s accused of contacting young boys in Canada, the U.S. and the U.K., posing as a young female, and urging them to take their clothes off.

It’s alleged those sessions were then recorded and the victims threatened with public exposure unless they provided more material.

He’s been remanded until May 17th.
