A fire alongside Highway 8 closed the route between Hamilton and Cambridge Friday morning.
The Cambridge fire department cordoned off an area near Studiman Road shortly before 8 a.m. after a blaze broke out in trailers and storage containers adjacent to the road.
Hamilton firefighters worked alongside the Cambridge crews aiding in water supply and putting the fire out.
A resident staying on the property was reportedly offered first aid by Cambridge paramedics as a precaution for being near the smoke on scene, says the Hamilton Fire Department.
Machinery and motor vehicles inside the containers were deemed a complete loss. Damage estimates are unknown at this time.
The highway reopened shortly after 10 a.m.
