Road tolls possible for Ontario

Ontario’s environmental watchdog says something needs to be done to lower traffic congestion.

He thinks road tolls might be the way to do it.

Ontario’s Environmental Commissioner Gord Miller says traffic congestion imposes huge costs on the economy, the environment, and public health.

He says emissions have likely increased in the past two years with the return of economic growth.

Miller says the best way for governments to break the link between economic growth and greenhouse gas emissions is to put a price on carbon.
