Road 2 Hope Marathon

Thousands of eager runners lined up in Confederation Park earlier Saturday, for the start of Hamilton’s Road 2 Hope marathon.

The 2 day racing event raises thousands of dollars for charities both in Haiti, and here in Hamilton, including Hamilton’s City Kidz.

Over 3,000 runners are expected for Sunday’s half and full marathons.

Races start at Dofasco Park where some runners hope to achieve an ellusive qualifier for the boston marathon.

Sunday will also be a first for the event, as one runner will attempt to break a Guinness World record for running the full marathon backwards.
