Riverfest Elora shutting down permanently due to costs, say organizers

A popular indie music festival in Wellington County is shutting down.

Riverfest Elora announced its permanent closure on its website, saying expenses in the last few years have grown and “vastly outpaced revenues.”

The festival lost more than $1.2 million in the last three seasons. Organizers say declining sponsorship alongside escalating production and infrastructure costs are to blame.

The statement thanks fane for “dancing in the rain and celebrating in the stars.”

Organizers will be reaching out with refund details to those who bought early bird tickets for 2026.
