Rescued Dogs Find New Homes

An update to a story we first brought to you earlier this week. 150 dogs rescued from an animal shelter in Louisiana got the chance to meet their new potential families. An adoption clinic has been setup, and organisers are calling it a success.

The conditions at an animal shelter in Bastrop, Louisiana were deplorable. 10 to 15 dogs crammed into a single pen, some of them still have battle scars from fights with other dogs. The city run shelter had no money for medicine or food.
That’s where the Welland SPCA jumped in.

Thanks to a $32 000 donation from Petsmart charities, the dogs were able to get vaccinated and are up for adoption at the Petsmart on Stone Church road in Stoney Creek. The adoption clinic runs until Sunday, the fee is $400, which includes vaccinations.

The SPCA says any dogs that don’t get adopted this weekend will be kept at their facilities until they find their forever home.
