Reports of male with gun prompt school lockdowns, hold and secures in Oakville

Halton police say a man has been arrested in connection with an incident that prompted a lockdown and several hold and secures at schools in Oakville.
Shortly before noon on Tuesday, police were called to the area of Garth Webb Secondary School for reports of a male being seen outside in a field with a gun.
The suspect was identified as a youth and area residents were asked to shelter in place.
The high school was put into lockdown and Halton police say nearby schools were placed into a hold and secure including St. Joan of Arc Catholic Elementary School, Captain R. Wilson Public School, Willowglen Montessori, St. John Paul II Catholic Elementary School, Emily Carr Public School, Heritage Glen Public School, Abbey Park High School and St. Bernadette Catholic Elementary School.
At 12:30 p.m., officers located the youth at Bloomfield Park and placed him under arrest.
Police say no shots were fired and no physical injuries were reported.
They say no firearm was recovered during the arrest.
There is no word yet if any charges will be laid.
