[projekktor id=’23109′]
This is the first Family Day holiday for a Syrian family that now calls Hamilton home. The Al Rahmo family is a large one, with mom, dad, his brother and 11 children. All 14 of them arrived in Hamilton last month, sponsored by St. James Anglican church in Dundas.
The first thing was finding them a house big enough and helping to register the children for school. They spent 2 and a half years in a refugee camp in Lebanon but since arriving in Hamilton the children have been busy having fun with other kids. They say they’re excited to build a new life here, 21-year old Ali hopes to become a police officer.
They say the help they’ve received since arriving in our country has been overwhelming and it’s a Family Day they won’t forget.
