The inaugural Ray Lewis relays’ were held Thursday at McMaster University’s new outdoor track, in honour of “Rapid Ray” — Canada’s first Canadian-born black Olympic medalist.

Hundreds of up-and-coming track stars from Hamilton high schools participated in the events. It’s a great tee-up for the public and catholic school board athletic meets which are coming up in two and three weeks, respectively.
