Railing work causes intermittent Keddy Access Trail closures in Hamilton

Intermittent closures are expected to begin Monday and continue for a week on a portion of the Keddy Access Trail in Hamilton.
The trail will see daily closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. between the Hunter St. East entrance and the Arkledun Ave. trail connection.
The city is closing the access trail in order to safely perform railing repairs.
Pedestrians and cyclists will still be able to access the Keddy Access Trail between Southam Park and the Arkledun Ave. trail connection.
Work on the railings is weather permitting but crews expect to be finished by or before Dec. 16.
The city reminds cyclists that they can take advantage of the HSR Mountain Climber Program during this closure.
The Keddy Access Trail is a 2.1 km multi-use facility and was completed in December 2020.
By re-purposing a vehicular travel lane on the Claremont Access, the City of Hamilton created a high-quality active transportation connection between the lower city and mountain.
The trail is dedicated to the memory of Jay Keddy, an avid cyclist, parent and respected teacher in the Hamilton community.
