Quebec MP crosses the floor
The federal Liberals added a new member to their caucus Tuesday after an NDP MP crossed the floor.
Lise St-Denis quit the official opposition New Democrats and joined the third-place Liberals.
St-Denis says she’s making the move because she likes the Liberals’ social policy and their positions on job creation, foreign affairs and the environment.
St-Denis won in former Prime Minister Jean Chretien’s riding last May.
The switch gives the Liberals 35 seats in the House of Commons.
