Haudenosaunee protesters continue to block highway 6 in Caledonia

A highway blockade in Caledonia continues into its third day.

The group is standing in solidarity with First Nations across Canada opposed to the construction of a section of pipeline in British Columbia.

The road block was set up on the bypass Monday night in response to officers moving in on a rail blockade on Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory Monday morning.

Haldimand OPP remain on scene, Highway 6 is closed both directions between Greens Road and Argyle Street.

The group at the blockade will not say when they will be leaving. A second blockade near Hagersville has been dismantled.
