Premier Ford to announce Stage 3 plans for Toronto, Peel and Windsor-Essex
UPDATE: Toronto and Peel Region to move into Stage 3 on Friday
The Ontario government is expected to announce Wednesday whether more regions can move into Stage 3 of reopening.
Toronto, Peel and Windsor-Essex are the only areas in the province that remain in Stage 2.
Officials said they wanted more data before giving the green light for a broader reopening.
Most of Ontario’s 34 public health units were allowed to enter Stage 3 on July 17.
Another group joined them the following week.
Recently some areas, including Niagara and Ottawa, have seen an increase in new COVID-19 cases.
Premier Doug Ford says there are no plans to roll back the reopening in any areas
