Preliminary inquiry set for Toronto cop

(Updated) A preliminary inquiry has been set for next year for the Toronto Police officer charged in the shooting death of 18-year old Sammy Yatim.

Yatim was tasered and shot multiple times on an empty street car in July.30-year old Constable James Forcillo is charged with second-degree murder in Yatim’s death. He was not in court today, but his lawyers have set dates for a preliminary inquiry for April, May and June of next year.

Forcillo’s lawyer says its important to move the case forward quickly since it has received so much public interest.
