Powerful storm to hit U.S. and Atlantic Canada bringing snow and blizzard-like conditions

Atlantic Canada is bracing for a whopper of a storm that could dump more than 30 centimetres of snow in many areas and create blizzard-like conditions.
Environment Canada has issued special weather statements for all four provinces.
Labrador is expected to escape the worst of it.
Snowfall amounts range from 20- to 30 centimetres for northern New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, whipped up by gale-force winds between 90- and 100 kilometres per hour.
The big storm is expected to reach Newfoundland Tuesday night, with significant snow, ice pellets, rain and high winds until Thursday afternoon.
Meanwhile south of the border, mid-Atlantic states could get a record amount of snow over the next three days.
States in its path are taking no chances, cancelling transportation services and closing vaccine mega-sites.
