More than 1,000 homes and businesses near James and King streets in Hamilton were without power for about two hours on Sept. 2, 2024.

Power has been restored for nearly 1,390 homes and businesses in downtown Hamilton Monday morning.

Alectra Utilities says the outage occurred shortly after 8 a.m. in the area of James Street South and King Street East.

The company had estimated that power would be restored between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., but it was resolved around 10:30 a.m.
