Waterfront redevelopment is once again a very hot topic in Hamilton.

A controversial proposal to build an industrial waste-to-energy facility at the foot of Sherman Avenue has drawn a sharp line between those who want to continue down the path of the city’s industrial past and those who want to change course for the future.

The final decision on the plant may not belong to the citizens or the city of Hamilton because the land on which the facility is proposed belongs to the federally controlled Hamilton Port Authority.
