Port Colborne woman, bus monitor charged with sexual exploitation of minors

Niagara police have arrested and charged a Port Colborne woman who works as a bus monitor for a local high school for making sexually explicit material available to minors.

The Niagara police service’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit and the Technological Crimes Unit began a joint investigation in October that led to the arrest on Nov. 12.

Cheri-Lyn Weaver, 33, has been charged with “Making Sexually Explicit Material Available — under 18 — Sexual Exploitation.”

Anyone with information related to the case is asked to contact Niagara police at 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009172.

Those who wish to provide information anonymously can contact Crime Stoppers of Niagara online or at 1-800-222-8477. Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards to persons who contact the program with information that leads to an arrest.
