Port Colborne nurse sentenced to 4 years for physically abusing a toddler

A Port Colborne nurse has been sentenced to four years in prison for abusing a two-year-old child with significant medical limitations.
Niagara police responded to a Thorold address on Aug. 5, 2022 regarding an assault investigation.
Upon arrival, police found a two-year-old boy who had sustained serious injuries, which required being taken to an out-of-town hospital.

Detectives in the child abuse unit took over the investigation where it was determined a nurse responsible for the toddler’s care had deliberately caused the injuries.
The lawyer for 24-year-old Eric Hang has confirmed to CHCH News as part of a plea deal, his client was sentenced on counts of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and common assault at a St. Catharines courthouse on Wednesday.
