Port Colborne after-school program leader arrested following sexual assault investigation

Niagara police say they’ve arrested 41-year-old Joseph F. Crawford of Port Colborne in connection with a series of sexual assaults that took place between 2002-2003.

Police say Crawford worked as a leader in an after-school program in Port Colborne when the assaults are alleged to have taken place. The victim was a youth at the time of the incidents.

Crawford has been arrested and charged with three counts of sexual assault, three counts of sexual interference, and forcible confinement.

Investigators believe there may be more victims, and are asking anyone with information to contact Niagara police at (905) 688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009336. Information can be disclosed anonymously to Crime Stoppers of Niagara online or by calling 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).
