Police share bodycam video of incident involving officer at Hindu temple protest in Brampton, Ont.

Peel Regional Police have released body camera video from an officer involved in a confrontation with protesters on Nov. 3 outside of a Hindu temple in Brampton, Ont.

Police say the video shows an officer going into the crowd outside the Hindu Sabha Temple on Gore Road, and lawfully disarming a man who had a stick.

They say it shows the crowd physically resisting the officer.

Peel police say they released the video in response to another social media video of the confrontation, which they say had raised questions about the interaction.

The protest included clashes between people holding banners in support of an independent Sikh homeland in India and others with the Indian national flag.

Several people were arrested.
