Hamilton police have released surveillance video of a man accused of a string of residential break-ins on the city’s east Mountain in an effort to identify him.

Officers say the incidents occurred in a residential community but did not specify the neighbourhood or when they took place.

During the incidents, investigators say the man was seen ringing the doorbell — likely to determine whether anyone was home — before entering inside.

Police say the man targeted jewelry and electronic items.

The man is described as having a medium build and was wearing dark clothing and hiding part of his face.

The video shows the man with a beard and mustache and wearing glasses or sunglasses.
