Police search for suspect after series of fuel thefts throughout Niagara

Niagara police are looking for a suspect following several fuel thefts throughout the region.

The first case was reported on July 29, and the latest incident happened on Nov. 7.

Police say the suspect has committed seven fuel thefts resulting in a total loss of $950.

Officers say the thefts have occurred in St. Catharines, Welland, Niagara Falls, and Fort Erie.

In each of the thefts, the suspect arrives at the gas stations in a older model blue BMW X5.

Police say the suspect is switching back and forth between stolen Ontario licence plates, including BSAC475 and BXPX281.

The suspect is described as a white man, 40 to 50 years old, about five-foot-nine inches with varying hair styles, most recently a shaved head. He also has tattoos on both calves.
