Police search for man wanted in St. Catharines knifepoint robbery

Niagara police are searching for a man wanted for allegedly robbing a St. Catharines convenience store at knifepoint on Sunday.

Police say a man entered an Avondale store located at 80 Pelham Rd. and brandished a knife before stealing cash and fleeing the scene.

The suspect was last seen travelling westbound on foot on Cumming Street towards Rykert Street.

He is described as a Black man, six-feet tall, 20 to 30-years-old, with a slim build. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing black sweatpants, black shoes, green gloves, and a knee-length dark grey or black parka coat with the hood up.
