Police release images of Grimsby shooting suspect, vehicle

Niagara police are on the hunt for a man following a suspected targeted shooting in Grimsby Wednesday night that sent another man to hospital with serious injuries.

The shooting took place around 7:45 p.m. on South Service Road near Kelson Avenue North, close to the Stoney Creek border.

Hamilton police assisted with an initial K-9 search of the area. The parking lot at Andrew Peller Winery was taped off for the Niagara police investigation.

The suspect was last seen running southbound on Kelson Avenue North from South Service Road.

The Black male suspect is described as having a slim build and was wearing black slim-fit track pants, a black hooded sweatshirt with a white shirt underneath, black and red coloured shoes, white socks and was carrying a blue reusable shopping bag.

Officers are also searching for late 2000 to mid-2010 grey or silver sedan that has dark tinted windows, a tinted sunroof, aluminum or grey rims and has a large dent on the driver side’s rear door.

Police believe there is no ongoing risk to pubic safety.
