Police negotiating with barricaded man in central Hamilton

Hamilton police are on scene negotiating with a man barricaded in a building located in central Hamilton.

Officers received a call at approximately 8:07 a.m. that a man barricaded himself in a room in a building on Emerald Street South between King and Main streets.

Due to the incident, St. Patrick Catholic Elementary School went into a hold and secure this morning, which has since been lifted.

Authorities have not reported any injuries.
