Niagara police make arrest in St. Catharines homicide

After an hours-long standoff Saturday afternoon, Niagara Regional Police Service officers have arrested a suspect in yesterday’s killing in St. Catharines.
Officers made the arrest at a home on Churchill Street. A viewer sent images of the arrest (above) to CHCH News, as reported earlier.
47-year-old Daniel Dale Rosebush of St. Catharines is now facing charges of second degree murder and attempted murder.
Rosebush is currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Sunday.
Detectives continue to search for another man in relation to this incident (pictured below) and are asking anyone with information to come forward by calling (905) 688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009134 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477. He is described as a white man between the ages of 35 and 40, with a thin build, brown wavy hair, and a scruffy goatee. He was wearing a dark hooded bomber jacket, dark jeans, and dark running shoes.
As reported earlier by CHCH News on Friday and Saturday, police responded to reports of gunshots in the area of Riordon and Division Streets early Friday afternoon and initially reported two people had been taken to hospital with injuries.
Late Friday, police confirmed two men were indeed shot and one died after being taken to a local hospital. The other was taken to an out of region hospital where he is currently being treated for life threatening injuries.
