One arrested, another in critical condition after hit-and-run in St. Catharines

One person has been arrested after a hit-and-run in St. Catharines that left a pedestrian with serious injuries.

Niagara police say they responded to reports of a collision at Pelham Road and Monck Street around 5:45 p.m. Friday.

The male pedestrian was taken to hospital and remains in critical condition.

While officers were at the scene, the driver who struck the man returned.

20-year-old Gurmeet Singh of St. Catharines has been arrested and charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident causing bodily harm.
