Police investigate suspicious fire in Niagara Falls

Police are investigating a suspicious fire that caused $400,000 in damage in Niagara Falls.

Around 2:30 a.m., Niagara police responded to a residential structure fire located on Ailanthus Ave. South of Dunn St. on Friday.

The Niagara Falls Fire Department extinguished the fire, investigators say no physical injuries were sustained as the residence was unoccupied at the time.

The Ontario Fire Marshal has been called in to take part in the investigation.

Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity on Ailanthus Ave. or in the surrounding area are being asked to contact police.

Additionally, residents with surveillance in the area are being asked to review their footage and report any relevant information.
