Police investigate school shooting threat at Bishop Tonnos Secondary in Ancaster

Police are investigating after a message was found in a bathroom stall at Bishop Tonnos Secondary threatening a school shooting.
The school found the message last Friday. According to the message, the school shooting is threatened to take place on Friday. Police say they will be present at the school on this day.
The school sent a letter home to parents on Monday to let them know about the incident and that police were contacted immediately.
Police are continuing to investigate and say there is no immediate threat. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
The threat was found shortly after 19 children and two teachers were killed in a school shooting in Uvalde, Texas on May 24.
On the day the school sent a letter to parents, a Hamilton vigil was held for the ten people killed in a racially motivated mass-shooting at a grocery store in Buffalo, New York on May 14.
The federal government also announced measures yesterday in a new firearm bill that is aiming to reduce firearms deaths in Canada. This includes a freeze on handgun sales and imports, as well as laws to keep guns from people deemed dangerous, among others.
