Police investigate after Toronto woman found dead near Mount Nemo

Halton police are investigating after a woman was found dead at the bottom of the Mount Nemo Escarpment in Burlington on Sunday.

Officers say hikers in the Mount Nemo Conservation Area discovered the body of the 47-year-old Toronto woman around 1:30 p.m.

Investigators say the death does not appear to be suspicious at this time.

A spokesperson for Conservation Halton says Mount Nemo is fully open today following what they say was an “isolated incident” on Sunday.

The incident comes four weeks after a Kitchener man died after falling off a cliff near Mount Nemo while hiking with his fiancé and friends.
