Police identify victims in fatal Mississauga crash

Peel police have released the names of a man and two children who died in a head-on collision in Mississauga on Sunday.

Canville Roberts, 40, was killed after his Mazda 6 crossed the centre median on Winston Churchill Blvd. around 11 p.m. and collided with a Mercedes.

Ayon Brown, 5, and Keziah Edwards-Young, 13, were both passengers in the Mercedes and died in hospital. Ayon’s parents, Camall Brown-Williams, 24, and Lakeisha Edwards-Smith, 25, were also in the Mercedes along with Lekeisha’s goddaughter, 7-year-old Jynnai Hartley.

Camall, who was driving at the time of the crash, suffered non-life threatening injuries. The 7-year-old was taken to a Toronto trauma centre where she remains in stable condition.

Lakeisha, whose 13-year-old brother was killed in the crash, remains in critical condition.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the collision, have dashboard video footage of the incident, or who may have information regarding the actions of the drivers prior to the collision.
