Hamilton police are appealing to the public for help finding a suspect and a car believed to be involved in the first shooting of the year.
Detectives said at 7:13 p.m. on Jan. 31, officers responded to a business in the area of East 28th Street and Fennell Avenue East for a report of a shooting.
A man was injured and transported to hospital in serious condition.
Investigators say they can now confirm that the suspected shooter fled in a waiting vehicle.
The male suspect is described as about six-foot-three tall, wearing a dark green-coloured puffy winter jacket, a black hooded sweater with a large white “Adidas” logo on the front, black pants and black shoes.
The suspect car is believed to be a four-door 2020 Honda Civic that’s silver or grey in colour. He was last seen fleeing the area of the shooting northbound on Upper Sherman Avenue from Brucedale Avenue East.
