Police expand search into rural Flamborough for missing Dundas man

Hamilton police have expanded their search into rural Flamborough as they continue looking for a missing Dundas man.
John Edwards, 62, was last seen on June 11 when surveillance cameras caught him walking southbound near 908 Millgrove Side Rd. and Cumminsville Drive in Flamborough at 4:08 p.m.
Officers say this recent sighting confirms that Edwards travelled further than initially believed.
Millgrove United Church on Concession 5 West is now being used as an active command post while officers and search teams conduct a ground search of the area.
Since being reported missing, authorities have launched an exhaustive and coordinated effort to find Edwards.
The search has included:
- Immediate deployment of search teams in the Dundas area
- Deployment of Public Order Unit (POU) and Ground Search and Rescue (GSAR) specialists
- Aerial and FLIR thermal imaging support, including assistance from the fire department
- Patrol officers on foot, bike, and mounted units, cadet and special constables engaged in the search
- Thorough video canvassing and surveillance review across the regions
- Vetted and investigated an extensive amount of public tips, including out-of-town sightings, one of which was in Milton that yielded no results.
Officers say his movements appear unpredictable. Edwards is not carrying a phone, ID, or money – which is making it more difficult to track the missing man.
Investigators believe there is no indication of foul play.
Due to recent extreme heat and Edwards’ cognitive vulnerabilities, the risk to his wellbeing is significant.
Anyone with information regarding Edwards’ whereabouts is asked to contact police at 905-546-3886 or the Missing Person Unit at 905-540-8549.
