Niagara police have charged two people early Friday morning following a drug search warrant at a home in Thorold.

Officers say they began an investigation earlier this year into the trafficking of illegal drugs by two residents of Thorold.

During the search of the home, police say they seized drugs, digital scales, and packaging materials as evidence of drug trafficking offences.

Investigators say the search yielded around 1,110 grams of cocaine, and one kilogram of crystal methamphetamine.

Detectives say the cocaine has an estimated street value of $72,000, and the crystal methamphetamine is valued at around $21,000.

They also seized $5,780 in cash, which they believe to be proceeds from drug trafficking.

Police had arrested two occupants of the home and charged them with multiple drug-related offences.

25-year-old Lexi Judge of Thorold was charged with possessing cocaine, and crystal methamphetamine for the purposes of trafficking, and for having proceeds obtained by crime over $5,000.

26-year-old Josh St. Amour of Thorold was also charged with those offences, as well as failing to comply with a probation order, and for obstructing a peace officer.

Both of the accused were held for a bail hearing at a St. Catharines courthouse Friday.

Anyone with information related to the drug trafficking investigation is asked to contact police.
