Hamiltonians can expect to see increased police presence around West Avenue North between Wilson and King William Streets, as police are trying to determine whether a shooting took place in the area.

A spokesperson says officers were called to the location around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, but they “have not located any victims nor are we certain a shooting did in fact occur.”

Police say forensics investigators have processed the scene, and the Shooting Response Team has taken over.

Anyone who may have information or video to confirm a shooting did take place is asked to contact police.
