Police charge driver after boat crashes, sinks in Hamilton Harbour

Police have arrested and charged a Waterloo man after his boat crashed into a Hamilton pier and sunk Wednesday night.
Hamilton fire and police responded to calls of a sinking 39-foot Bayliner on fire around 8 p.m. at Pier 8.
Investigators say the boat had hit the pier when returning to the marina.
Police arrested the 28-year-old driver as he appeared to be intoxicated. He has been charged with operating a vessel while impaired and failing to comply.
Emergency crews say no one was injured.
