Niagara police have arrested and charged a man after an investigation into allegations of a historic sexual assault on a person under the age of 16.
Officers say the offences are alleged to have taken place in 2004 in Welland.
On Tuesday, 57-year-old Rodney Hollingworth was arrested and charged with sexual assault.
Hollingworth remains in custody and is scheduled to attend a bail hearing on Wednesday at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church St. in St. Catharines.
Detectives believe there could be more victims and are asking anyone with information related to the incident to contact the police at 905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009783.
