Police arrest youth after threat made against school in Brampton

Police arrest a youth and seize assault rifle style airsoft guns after a threat was made against a school in Brampton.
Peel Regional Police say they became aware of a threat against St. Augustine Catholic Secondary School circulating on social media at around 11:50 p.m. on Sunday night.
Police immediately began to investigate the threat made against the school, which is located at 27 Drinkwater Rd. in the City of Brampton.
At 3:50 a.m. the accused youth was arrested for uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
Police seized two assault rifle style airsoft guns, magazines, and an airsoft handgun in relation to the threat.

The Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a young person and, therefore, the identity of the accused charged in this investigation is protected.
Peel Regional Police say they are committed to working with school board partners to ensure the safety of all students, staff and the extended community.
