Police arrest Hamilton man following drug trafficking investigation

On July 18, Hamilton police arrested one man in connection with suspected drug trafficking activity in the area of Fennell Avenue East.
Officers reported observing suspicious behaviour involving two vehicles in a commercial parking lot.
A subsequent investigation and continued surveillance resulted in the arrest of 45-year-old Wayne Ireland of Hamilton.
Ireland’s vehicle was searched which resulted in the following items being seized:
- Hydromorphone capsules and pills
- OxyContin pills
- Canadian currency totaling over $2,500
- Multiple mobile devices
Ireland is charged with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Opioids)
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000
