PM Trudeau under fire for family connections to WE organization

Controversy continues to swirl around Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his ties to the WE organization.

On Thursday, it was revealed that the charity has paid thousands of dollars in speaking fees to members of Trudeau’s family.

The WE Charity was initially tapped to distribute the Canada Student Services Grant worth $900 million.

The agreement was cancelled after intense criticism over the Trudeau family’s connections to the charity and its for-profit arm, ME to WE Social Enterprise.

On Tuesday, Trudeau was once again asked about the decision to use WE to oversee the Canada Student Services Grant.

He told reporters it was a decision made by the public service and ratified by cabinet.

Trudeau did not recuse himself during the cabinet discussion.

Bloc Quebecois Leader Yves-Francois Blanchet says that Trudeau should step aside until the matter is fully investigated.

The Conservatives want the RCMP to investigate.
